Protect Structurally Compromised Teeth

Tooth enamel is the strongest substance in the entire body. While it is very durable, it isn’t indestructible. Enamel can be damaged due to decay, injury, and other ways. Fortunately, just because your tooth is damaged doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t last. We offer same-day dental crowns to protect structurally compromised teeth from enduring additional damage while also offering a natural-looking appearance that blends in with the rest of our smile. Why Choose Healthy Smiles Dental Care for Same-Day Dental Crowns?

What Are Same-Day Dental Crowns?

Same-day dental crowns are customized dental restorations that are made using computer-aided design and manufacturing. Ultimately, it allows us to create your personalized dental crown without needing to send your impressions to a dental laboratory. Instead, they are constructed in-house.

The goal of your same-day dental crown is the exact same as a traditional dental crown. It’s designed to protect teeth that are weak, damaged, or decayed. Unlike traditional dental crowns that require two appointments to be completed, same-day crowns are crafted and placed on the exact same day.

The Process of Getting a Same-Day Dental Crown

The first step of the process is to remove a small sliver of enamel. This helps the crown to fit correctly and comfortably in your mouth. Most of the time, this is done with a local anesthetic to numb any possible discomfort. Then, your dentist will take digital impressions to generate a 3D model of your tooth. This will be sent from the computer to the in-office milling machine. After approximately an hour, the machine crafts a crown from tooth-colored dental material. This is completely personalized to match the size, shape, and color of your natural tooth. Lastly, you will try on the crown. Your dentist will make any last-minute adjustments if necessary. Then, the crown will be placed, and you will be on your way!
