Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees
Delta Dental Insurance currently offers three different dental insurance plans, including:
- Delta Dental PPOSM
- Delta Dental Premier®
- DeltaCare®USA (Delta’s DHMO-type closed network plan)
For patients who have selected Delta Dental PPO or Delta Dental Premier, you are welcome to use your coverage to visit any licensed dentist of your choice. However, your savings will be even greater if you select an in-network provider. For those with DeltaCare USA, you must choose a primary care dentist from Delta Dental’s expansive provider network.
The specific coverage you receive from your Delta Dental Insurance plan depends on your exact plan, the dentist you select, and the treatment or procedure you’re receiving. With most Delta Dental plans, a pre-specified percentage of the cost of your care will be paid out by your plan, while your remaining balance will depend on our fees at Healthy Smiles Dental Care. This means that your out-of-pocket expenses should be much lower when you visit us because we are in-network with Delta Dental!
Please be aware that with the Delta Dental Premier plan, you may have what is known as a “table of allowances,” which specifies the exact dollar amount Delta Dental will pay for each treatment you receive. In this situation, you’d simply pay the difference between your Delta Dental plan’s allowance and our fees at Healthy Smile Dental Care.
Please also note that most Delta Dental Insurance plans operate within a specified benefits period, which is typically one calendar year; however, this may not always be from January to December. Furthermore, some annual maximums and limits can be applied to each member of your family on your Delta Dental plan.
